The Experience
I had fun creating this hybrid soap that is a base of my olive oil recipe with a large amount of African Black Soap (ABS) bits mixed into the batch, as well as colloidal oatmeal. It has a warm almond honey fragrance.
It's like traveling to a remote African village market! African Black Soap is a tradition carried across generations of villagers in Ghana and Nigeria in West Africa. It has a deep brown mottled rustic appearance because it is crafted from locally harvested plants and materials such as plantain skins, cocoa pods, palm kernel oil and shea butter. The dry ingredients are sun roasted which gives the soap its distinctive dark hue.
African Black Soap supports traditional artisans and keeps a centuries-old craft alive. It is infused with the culture and stories of the people who crafted it. Experience it for yourself.
PLEASE NOTE: Traditional African Black Soap is made by roasting plantain skin and cocoa pods so it can be slightly gritty and gently exfoliating. It's not uncommon for tiny pieces of these materials to remain in the soap.
These bars are larger than a regular bar of soap, as they have a generous amount of African Black Soap bits mixed into the batch. Because of this and the added expense of ABS, these bars cost slightly more than my regular soaps.
THIS SOAP IS NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH NUT ALLERGIES
